On June 26th, the John Daub * ONLY in JAPAN channel becomes the newest channel in the ONLY in JAPAN series. It is a channel I created in 2011 after the Great Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami and it has now become my home for the a new generation of video content about stories in Japan.
In this video, I talk about why I started ONLY in JAPAN, about myself – my origins and Japan and why I stayed. All things are born from an idea. This was mine born from a great love of my second home and the kindness that has been given me. This is my gift.
I learned video editing in 2003 when I produced a Hitchhiking in Japan video. For the last 17 years, I’ve been producing video content about this country and reporting on it as a reporter for NHK World’s Tokyo Eye, Journey’s in Japan and Destination Kansai programs.
